Embark on a thrilling adventure into the treetops with our Canopy Expedition Tour. This self-powered, guided tree climbing experience offers a unique blend of exploration, physical challenge, and ecological discovery. Using modern climbing equipment, you’ll ascend to over 50 m (165 ft) and experience breathtaking ocean views and a new perspective on Vancouver’s iconic forests.
While this tour should be considered self-powered, Cultivara has a battery-powered ascender which can be used to assist climbers if needed during their ascent.
The tour takes place in the UBC Botanical Garden, Canada’s oldest operating botanical garden and a living museum of plant collections from around the world. A visit to the Garden pairs perfectly with your tree climbing adventure, offering beautiful walking trails, diverse ecosystems, and world-class plant collections that deepen your appreciation for the forest from the ground up.
Garden admission is not included in the recommended tour price or deposit and must be purchased separately online or easily at the front gate.
Our small-group tours can be tailored to suit participants of all skill and experience levels.
With our certified guides, modern gear, and a passion for nature, we ensure a safe, comfortable climb while connecting you to the wonders of the forest.
Snap one-of-a-kind photos from the canopy, offering perspectives few ever get to see.
Take in stunning daytime views of the Salish Sea, framed by the upper forest canopy. A sight you’ll never forget.
Our flexible, Experience-Based pricing allows you to set the price of your tour. First, pay the recommended price. After your tour, you have the freedom to easily adjust your payment – up or down – based on your experience and budget. No risk, and no expectations.
We believe everyone should have the chance to experience the wonder of tree climbing—regardless of financial means. When you book with Cultivara, you’re not just signing up for an adventure; you’re helping us fund outreach programs and community initiatives that aim to make trees and climbing accessible to all.
